Hello girles :) Do you know the legend of Lizzie Borden? Well... it's not a legend, it's a true story, one of the most misterious murder in New England. I visited Lizzie house during my holiday in MA, and I took some ghostly pictures... I think I'll write a post on my personal blog about this... stay tuned! I'll let you know on FB...
Anyway: during my trip I had so many ideas and ispirations... one of those was "Lizzie Borden took an axe"! This popular song is well known in New England, so why do not try to design a pattern?
And here we have the pattern! I personally stitched this pattern because it remembers me one of the most funny day of my holiday :) WOW, it's so rare I stitch one of my pattern!!! Isn't is weird??? LOL...
This is a lil piece of her story from wiki: "Lizzie Andrew Borden (July 19, 1860 – June 1, 1927) was an American woman who was tried and acquitted in the 1892 axe murders of her father and stepmother in Fall River, Massachusetts. The case was a cause célèbre throughout the United States. Following her release from the prison in which she had been held during the trial, Borden chose to remain a resident of Fall River, Massachusetts, for the rest of her life, despite facing significant ostracism. The Commonwealth of Massachusetts elected to charge no one else with the murder of Andrew and Abby Borden; speculation about the crimes still continues more than 100 years later."
I really hope you will love this pattern... I tried to put in it all the symbols linked with Lizzie: the pears, the hanky and, of course, the axe! LOL
Enjoy!

Gruesome yet totally cool!
Que escalofrío, cada puntada con matiz terrorífico
I love how your visit inspired this. Such a fascinating story. I'm going to have to do some research about the pears, I never knew that part. Thanks for sharing!
It's beautiful but I live alone so not sure I would want to reminded of "the crazies" out there. LOL! I wonder if they'll ever know the truth? It is gorgeous though and you did a great job stitching it. Is it difficult to stitch 30 count linen? I've not stitched on it before but I want to!
Is very beautiful!
Hugs,
Lili
Bellissimo adoro il sangue nell'accetta!!!!!!
Love your new design!
I know the song... and it seems quite strange to see it stitched but I think it's a great idea :o)
Troppo geniale...lo amo...evvai, ora hai dato il là per serie creepy a spasso per i blog, a giorni qualcuno farà lo schema di mr Manson!!!!
Mitica!!!!
This is a really unique design! Very macabre!
Lizzy Borden was the inspiration for Vincent Furnier choosing his stage name. He wanted something innocent sounding like Lizzie that hid a dark side. He chose Alice Cooper! He also uses the rhyme in one of his songs; We're All Crazy on the From the Inside album.
There was also a rock band called Lizzy Borden but I wouldn't bother looking them up, they were dreadful!!
oh, what a scary story... But the design is great!
